Yagooglies: They make good stuffs

From what I can gather, this video was made to educate the Japanese about Google’s commitment to protecting privacy whilst offering a service like Street View on Google Maps. Personally, I would’ve just suggested a quick read of Orwell’s 1984, but maybe some might not appreciate the confused irony.

Then there’s Google’s new Fast Flip. which allows you to quickly browse the news headlines across multiple sources, without needing to load all the assets from the newspaper sites themselves. Plus it learns from the articles you click on, delivering an increasingly relevant cross-section of the news. But the real genius probably lies in the mobile version. The only downside I can see is that I’m probably going get run over by a car whilst I’m playing with it on my iPhone as I cross the road.

And finally is Google Statistics, which collates a bunch of sources into a neat access point for data on economics, media, technology & consumer insights.

Aahhh Google. You are so scarily clever.

Speaking of Google, you heard about their new SideWiki?

A good service, particularly if/when they get around to integrating it with your known network (they’re no doubt already doing this) to show comments that people you know have made, but an interesting opportunity/dilemma for brands with the power of public comment given space on their own sites.

And I’m not sure where competitor advertising might fit into this further down the track too.. Guessing Google will start to sell Adwords in there too?
