Google Goggles vs iPhone: The road to obscurity
This one has been in the works for a while. I’d heard ages ago for translating signs/menus/etc in foreign countries. But this is even cooler. Can’t wait for the iPhone version!
And like the narrator says: “Dey ar ownlay swartching dar sirfarce”

Surely they won’t port this to the iPhone any time soon. Wouldn’t that kill any incentive to get a Google phone? (Incidentally, I want a Google phone. Does anyone offer them in Australia?)
I still hate all this platform competition. VHS vs Beta. Boring. Who cares which ones better. Just agree and go forwards. Frogs foreskin of difference for most people.
In Oz… Originally some indy dude was gunna be bringing in a no-frills handset from China with Android (maybe cleanskin HTC) but he pulled the pin because of platform bugs, small market, etc.
HTC were the only one here until about August

(Don’t think the memory is great).
Then Samsung brought out Galaxy – also with 5MP camera, but with memory expandable from 8 to 24GB.
Personally I wouldn’t really touch them until they get more market share here.
FYI, interesting stat from the states… 8% of phones are iPhone, accounting for 68% of Internet traffic.
